Its 1st of January, the gym’s are full of people, those member’s who for the last 10 months or so didn’t even see the doors of gym but they just had “gym membership” to brag about. On other hand there are ladies who are buying all sorts of new machines saying that from today I’ll make the yogurt myself or make more healthy meals. Those who have smart phones are downloading all kinds of apps about weight loss or cardio training. Writer’s are making resolutions to write new books this year. Students make resolutions to top their class etc. Every kind of person making a resolution to change his/her life style or better.
But…
All these things start and they end just in a month or so. People soon forget there “resolutions”. They find excuses about there tough routines bla bla. You Don’t Have Strong Enough Reasons To Stick With Your Resolution. So the resolutions only last till February, I have watched this same routine over years and have been a victim of these things myself. This year however I changed this scenario. I didn’t make any resolutions rather I reinvented my goals.
I have tried many ways and many technologies to document my goals, Evernote seemed to be nice but paper and pen are the best
. The thing with goals is that we make goals and forget them because we don’t review them. And we make goals in 15 or 20 minutes that is just not enough. Goals making should be specific and made with proper considerations. We have to consider the past and the future and then make goals in the present.
So hers’s what you need.
- You don’t need permission.
- You don’t need a new year.
- You don’t need a new week.
- You don’t need to tell anybody.
- You just need to start.
Yes start anything you want, set a goal and just do it.
Pick something. We live in a world full of distractions — that’s nothing new. So how do we do something meaningful in the world? Simple. But most will overlook this. Take that list of goals you’ve set for the new year. Then pick one thing and circle it (maybe it’s to write a book or lose 20 pounds). Just one thing now. And then — are you ready for this? — doit. That’s it. Then move on to the next thing and repeat the process until you become the world’s most productive person.
Changing your life is not complicated, but it’s not easy, either. If you are going to make this year count, you’ll need to focus. And a great place to start is by making more room in your life for things to happen, by becoming a more decisive person (and thus a person of action), and by drilling down to one thing at a time and doing it.
My friend Ali Rafi send me this and new year is the great time to post this.
Sometimes I go left and sometimes I go right. Dealing with something inside which happens to be a fight. I see no signs of victory till the very last mile in sight. My patience is running dry with every taken stride. But deep down I know I must go on with the fight. Must ask for help from the one with whom lies all the might.
A very happy new year to you people.
Stay blessed and Stay awesome.
A.K.R.
